Manifestación masiva del PAME
El pueblo trabajador de Atenas envió hoy este mensaje; el pueblo laborioso de los barrios de los alrededores de Atenas y Pireo, trabajadores, mujeres, autoempleados, jubilados y pensionados, desempleados y estudiantes que inundaron la Plaza Síntagama por miles. Manifestaciones similares en docenas de ciudades por toda Grecia. En una grande y viva manifestación el pueblo sencillo proclamó su clara e inalterable decisión: ¡No debemos nada!-¡No pagaremos!.
La manifestación fue un claro mensaje de desafío frente a las órdenes de pago del impuesto per capita que esta por ser enviado de forma masiva a toda las familias de la clase trabajadora y de las capas populares, en tanto que un nuevo aumento de impuestos fue votado hoy en el Parlamento por el gobierno, el cual conmina a todo propietario de casa, aún de las propiedades más pequeñas, a pagar un impuesto permanente y caro a través las cuentas de la electricidad.
Si añadimos a estos pesados impuestos la nueva ronda de medidas que imponen nuevos impuestos, una nueva reducción dramática de salarios, una reducción de pensiones de más del 50%, con el despido de 30 000 empleados del sector público y con la perspectiva inmediata de que ese número alcance 200,000, etc, las familias de la clase trabajadora y de las capas populares serán llevadas a la indigencia y bancarrota masivamente.
El PAME, los sindicatos con orientación clasista y con una intervención organizada en este periodo, están colectando las órdenes de pago de los trabajadores para masivamente proclamar que ellos no van a pagar a pesar de la intimidación del gobierno, referente a las subastas y prisión, al mismo tiempo que al gran capital van a ser dadas excepciones fiscales provocadoras y este está por recibir nuevos privilegios.
Ahora el único camino es el rechazo en masa y organizado a pagar. El PAME llama a nuevas actividades contra los pesados impuestos el día 28 de Septiembre, después de la combativa manifestación del pasado 21 de Septiembre, llegando al clímax con la huelga en el sector público y en las antiguas compañías estatales el 5 de Octubre y a una huelga general a escala nacional el 19 de Octubre.
¡NI UN PASO ATRÁS!
Debe ser tomado en cuenta que una gran delegación del Comité Central del KKE estaba presente en el mitin, encabezada por la Secretaria General del Comité Central del KKE, Aleka Papariga, que hizo la siguiente declaración para los media: “Ni un paso atrás. La gran mayoría del pueblo debe hacer lo que está pensando hacer –no pagar los pesados impuestos, rechazar ser empujado contra la pared. Debemos convertir sus vidas en un infierno. Esta confrontación comienza ahora, ella ya existe y va a continuar en el próximo periodo”
Además en el mitin del PAME fue aprobada una resolución de solidaridad con el pueblo palestino y con la exigencia de que Palestina se vuelva un Estado integrante de la ONU, reconociendo como sus fronteras las de 1967 y con Jerusalén del Este como su capital.

“We can stop them! We do not owe anything-We will not pay your head tax!”- Massive demonstration of PAME.
The working people of Athens sent this message yesterday, the people of toil from the neighbourhoods of Athens and Piraeus, workers, women, self-employed, pensioners, unemployed and students who flooded Syntagma square in their thousands. Rallies were correspondingly organized in dozens of cities all over Greece. In a large and lively demonstration the ordinary people proclaimed their clear and immovable decision: “We do not owe anything- We will not pay!”. The demonstration was a clear message of defiance in the face of the payment orders of the tax office which are being sent in a mass way to every family from the working class and the popular strata, while a new tax raid was voted through yesterday in Parliament by the government which calls on every home-owner even of the smallest property to pay a permanent and expensive tax via the electricity bills.
If we add to these heavy taxes the new round of measures which provide for new taxes, a new dramatic reduction of salaries, a reduction of pensioners by up to 50% with the dismissal of 30,000 public sector employees with the immediate prospect of this number reaching 200,000 etc. The families from the working class and popular strata will be led to mass destitution and bankruptcy.
PAME, the class-oriented trade unions with an organized intervention in this period are collecting the payment orders from the workers and in mass way proclaim that they are not going to pay despite the massive intimidation of the government, concerning auctions and imprisonments, at the same time when big capital is being given provocative tax exemptions and is receiving new privileges.
Now the only path is the organized mass refusal to pay, PAME calls for new activity against the heavy taxes on the 28th of September, after the massive demonstration on Wednesday 21/9, coming to a head with the strike in the public sector and former state companies on the 5th of October and a general nationwide strike on the 19th of October.
It should be noted that a large delegation of the CC of the KKE was present at the rally, headed by the GS of the CC of the KKE, Aleka Papariga who made the following statement to the media: “Not one step back. The large majority of the people must do what they are thinking of doing- not to pay the heavy taxes, to refuse to be backed up against the wall. We must make their lives hell. This confrontation begins exists today and for the next period.”
It should be noted that at the rally of PAME a solidarity resolution with the Palestinian people was adopted and with the demand that Palestine become a member-state of the UN, recognised with its 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
